Gary Worth Moody was born in the South Texas county of San Patricio near the banks of Chiltipin Creek. A poet and falconer, Gary’s first book, HAZARDS of GRACE was published in June 2012 by Red Mountain Press. His second book OCCOQUAN, short listed for the International Rubery Award in Poetry, was published in March 2015 by Red Mountain Press. He is the former co-director of the LOST RIVER POETRY WORKSHOPS. A graduate of St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico,and the George Mason University MFA program, Gary’s poems have been published in AKROS, BLUE ROCK REVIEW, THE TAOS JOURNAL OF INTERNATIONAL POETRY AND ART, ADOBE WALLS, THE MALPAIS REVIEW, PHOEBE, SO-TO-SPEAK, and DRAGON POET REVIEW. His work has been anthologized in ZINGARA POET’s 200 NEW MEXICO POEMS and CABIN FEVER: POETS AT JOAQUIN MILLER’S CABIN, 1984-2001 (Word Works Press). A falconer, Gary lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico with the artist and writer Oriana Rodman, Gus the black-tongued dog, Tick the dachshund, and Plague, the male red-tail hawk.
